Google Wise To Look To Move Further Into Voip Technology, Claims UK SEO Company Queryclick.com

With an ever-expanding empire in the world of search and online communication, some believed that Google was missing a string to its bow when it came to VoIP software. Recent news that the company is in negotiations to buy publically traded Norwegian company Global IP Solutions suggests that Google is planning to complete its arsenal with a new solution.

Google Wise To Look To Move Further Into Voip Technology, Claims UK SEO Company Queryclick.com

While the deal is still surrounded in mystery, it’s no surprise that Google has sought to takeover a company it has long been a customer of. What is more unsure is how existing customers, such as search engine and online rivals Yahoo! and AOL, will fit into the picture if Google gains control of Global IP Solutions.

SEO company Queryclick.com commend Google for its ability to spot opportunities. Queryclick explained: “As Google has continued to grow, it’s suffered from the same problems that face any rapidly and massively expanding business – the fact that the bigger you get, the harder you fall.

“However, the company has continued to make smart purchases and spot holes in the market, as well as showing its not afraid to take risks or write a project off as a failure if it doesn’t come to fruition, We think that the acquisition of a company like Global IP Solutions is a very smart move for the search engine – especially as it tries to move further into the mobile market.”

Google also bought VoIP provider Gizmo5 in November of last year, and this latest attempted acquisition suggests the search company hasn’t found its ideal solution yet. The new deal with Global IP Solutions is still awaiting approval from stockholders, although both businesses appear confident that approval will be granted.

“Companies now need to make sure search engine optimisation, advertising and PPC campaigns are able to interact successfully with the desires of users who are expecting more and more from their online services – whether it means added functionality, or sites that are easy to browse from mobile devices.”

Study by Clickbooth Will Help Businesses Better Target Women Ages 35 to 55

Marketing to women ages 35 to 55 can prove more difficult than marketing to other groups of online shoppers, as they are less willing to part with their money on a whim. Affiliate program network Clickbooth wants to help its clients reach more members of this valuable demographic, the largest online today. Part one of its recent study, “An Inside Look at Marketing to Women Ages 35 to 55,” addresses the makeup of this group and offers clients of Clickbooth’s CPA affiliate network tips on how to better reach them.

Study author Sara Anderson states that affiliate program network campaigns aimed at this demographic should be broken into smaller units that target specific groups, such as:

Single Mothers – There are approximately 10.4 million women in this group. They value their children, their time, and their appearance, making and saving their money, and finding a life partner. These factors should be considered when creating a CPA affiliate network campaign for them.

Stay at Home Mothers – They make up 25 percent of the married woman demographic, and they value highest meeting the needs of their family. When marketing to this group, Anderson suggests addressing the entire family. With this group, an affiliate program network campaign should include inspiring stories of other women in similar situations, who have successfully cared for their families using the campaign’s products or services.

Working Mothers – These educated consumers do not have time for endless research before making a purchase. Because of this, a CPA affiliate network campaign targeting this group should stress a product or service’s time and money saving features.

Married Women with No Children – Approximately four million women fall into this group. They value their freedom and independence, so when targeting an affiliate program network campaign toward this group, consider playing off what they value most: making and saving money, their spouse, having fun and meeting their health and beauty needs.

Single Women with No Children – They are a smaller portion of this demographic, but no less valuable. As they are more likely to be interested in finding a life partner, consider a CPA affiliate network campaign that targets a product or service’s ability to improve their image or help them meet someone special.

Anderson stresses the importance of the language used in affiliate program network campaigns that aimed toward this demographic. She suggest that clients “speak in a language that relates to her, appeals to her caring nature, shows concern for her time, and complements (not complicates) her life. The last thing she needs is a process that takes more of her time – simplicity is key.”

To read the full study by Anderson, which also includes tips on how to increase conversions with women ages 35 to 55, go to blog.clickbooth.com.

CQout Sets Sights On eBay Crown

CQout, the international online market place and auction community, has announced that it is setting its sights on disaffected eBay sellers as part of its US expansion plans.

CQout managing director, Siamak Bashi said, “We have recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary of providing auction services to UK where our reputation for trust and security is second to none which has helped us to grow to become one of the largest auction service providers. Our plans are now to continue our growth by providing tailored services to our US customers. We believe auction users in the US deserve a better service than they are currently getting f r o m  eBay.”

The decision to move into the US market and to take on eBay was made following customer demands for an auction service which responds to its customer needs rather than impose rule changes every few months, like the recent imposition of certain enforced ‘Post Free’ product offerings which have alienated many previously loyal users.

The general ethos at CQout has always been to be flexible and respond to what customers ask for. Siamak highlighted, “We recently had the owner of US movie poster website who wanted to run their own auction site. But rather than go through the expense of buying software and hassle of running an auction site they asked us if we would tailor our services for their site. Within days we had an auction service running on their site”.

Siamak believes CQout is ideally positioned to take the fight to eBay as its pricing structure is lower than eBay and has proven particularly attractive to medium to large sellers with its no listing fee policy. This means a seller can list thousands or even tens of thousands of items on CQout at zero cost, which means additional exposure and marketing for their products for free.

While based in the UK, CQout has taken several important steps to ensure a safe, secure and seamless service is provided for all US customers.

CQout online auctions services for US customers will be provided on the CQout.com top level domain, but it will use exactly the same secure technologies which have been tried and test over the last 10 years in the UK market, and lead to it being the only auction site to be certified hacker proof to standards set by the FBI and audited independently by McAfee Secure, one of the biggest names in internet security.

The US auction service is also fully integrated with the rest of CQout auction operations, so when a seller lists their items on the US site, it can automatically be shown and made available to International buyers f r o m any country the seller chooses via a simple tick box selection on the selling form. The sellers products are seamlessly displayed and sold in the seller’s chosen currency, but prices are also displayed automatically in the buyers’ home currency. This makes the buying decision much easier for customers and is therefore less prone to mistakes and abandoned sales. This is a big contrast to eBay where sellers who want to sell internationally have to list separately on other eBay sites and pay additional listings fees. The CQout in-house payment systems SecurePay and EasyPay are also available to all CQout buyers and sellers f r o m any countries where Visa & MasterCards are available, which covers virtually the whole world.

Bizwiki.com Goes Live, Delivering Wiki-power To Small Business

The wiki-powered business website Bizwiki.com announced its American version went fully live today. Bizwiki was launched as an Alpha in the USA in December 2008, promising to change the way local search works by enabling its users to build up the most detailed and up-to-date index of business in the United States.

Bizwiki.com Goes Live, Delivering Wiki-power To Small Business

The new fully live version features over 5,000 categories of business, and in contrast to traditional Yellow Pages websites invites business owners and representatives to add and improve their companies’ records with everything from contact details to prices and opening hours, completely free of charge.

“We are also launching new functionality today that allows the site’s users to‘Watch’ any business, receiving an email notifying them of any additions and edits,” said Bizwiki co-founder Matt Aird. “This is useful for anyone who is interested in following changes, but is primarily designed to empower people to get involved in claiming their own businesses and ensuring the information the public sees stays as accurate and relevant as possible.”

Creating a ‘Watchlist’ of businesses on Bizwiki is free. Representatives are invited to sign up with Bizwiki.com and look up the companies they are interested in, then simply click ‘Watch this business’ to receive notification of any changes to the record. They are also able to add more information and details to records while doing so.

“We’ve tried to take ideas and concepts from some of the most successful user-created websites in the world, such as Wikipedia and the Open Directory Project, and improve them to where the ‘anyone can edit’ principles of a wiki can be used in a business-environment,” continued Matt Aird. “The biggest single difference is probably that our site is built in a consistently structured format, allowing us to rapidly scale-up the amount of information and also give our users an easy way to search the site.”

The Bizwiki difference:

• It’s free – Unlike many established publishers that charge for inclusion, Bizwiki is free to search, free to edit and free for companies to list on.
• It’s editable – The ‘anyone-can-edit’ approach is a challenge to the frequently out-of-date records in conventional printed Business Directories.
• It’s a wiki – The wiki approach allows far more depth of information about each business to be compiled than anything conventionally available.
• It’s structured – Bizwiki is built using structured data, allowing reusability of information, bulk updates from chambers of commerce or webspiders, and an easy search experience for users.

Bizwiki was built by industry-veterans with years of business directory and meta-search experience behind them, including Keith Hinde, Matt Aird, Craig Sefton and Arthur Jenkins who between them have helped develop directory and search products for Infospace, local directory publisher Thomson Directories, TradePage and Webcrawler.

Bigmouthmedia And Econsultancy Reveal Companies Plan Increased Social Media Spend In 2010

The Social Media and Online PR Report, published by Econsultancy in association with bigmouthmedia, has revealed that most companies are planning to invest more in social media next year but are struggling to find the time and resources to manage their activity.

The report is based on a survey of over 1,100 companies and agencies, and is the most comprehensive study of its kind around how companies are using online PR and social media for marketing and customer service.

The results showed that 86% of companies plan to spend more money on social media in 2010, and a further 13% are planning to keep the same level of budget. 54% cited their biggest barrier to better social media engagement was a lack of resources, with 90% of businesses stating that social media is taking up more time internally than a year ago.

“The growth of social media and online PR has been meteoric, but until now there have been very few hard facts available on precisely how UK business is using the new channel and what they’re getting in return for their investment,” said Phil Gripton, Managing Director of bigmouthmedia UK.

“These statistics – the most detailed yet available – show that while an increasing number of companies are embracing social media, many are struggling to effectively manage their engagement and are consequently failing to make the most of a potentially enormous opportunity.”

The research found that many companies are experimenting with social media without yet reaping any measurable benefits. Only a quarter of companies said that they have gained “real, tangible value” from social media whereas 60% said they had gained “some benefit but nothing concrete”. However, 52% of respondents who are heavily involved said they have gained real value, compared to only 13% of companies who “experimented but not done much”.

Michelle Goodall, Econsultancy’s social media and online PR consultant at Econsultancy, said: “Before they think about their strategy and the best tactics, companies need to go back to basics and think in detail about how online PR and social media can help them deliver against their business objectives.

“The reality is that most businesses understand how to listen, what to measure and where to engage but are struggling to define the value of engagement and reputation in social spaces.”

There view of the benefits of Twitter is mixxed, with 31% of respondents saying there are “tremendous opportunities” available, but half reported their companies are “open-minded but not fully convinced about the value to the business”.

The majority of organisations (62%) are using the micro-blogging site for publicising new content, with 54% using the channel for marketing or brand monitoring (47%). Only 27% of companies are using Twitter as a customer service tool for reacting to issues and inquiries, while 25% use Twitter as a customer feedback tool. 7% felt that Twitter is over-hyped and a fad.

Technology Adoption Fuels Recovery Tipping Point For UK SMEs

According to research from BT Business, supported by the Design Council and Prince’s Trust, small businesses at the forefront of technology adoption have been the least impacted by the recession, with those most reluctant to bring in new technology suffering the most. Companies with a positive attitude to technology adoption had a 69% better than average experience of the recession, whereas technology laggards suffered a 34% worse recession experience than the average.

The survey was conducted by Vanson Bourne on behalf of BT Business and included responses from more than 7,200 small businesses across the UK.

The 2009 Business Pulse report is the UK’s largest survey of SMEs this year. The survey shows widespread recognition of the importance of technology in reducing costs and increasing efficiency and competitiveness. 30% of businesses said that they have saved money through using technology, 32% use technology to network and obtain advice and 28% have found more customers through its use. Nearly one in five cited the use of technology to support flexible working as having one of the most significant impacts on how they have managed the recession.

The Business Pulse survey identified the positive steps firms have taken to manage the downturn. Nearly twice as many technology innovators have seen an increase in turnover of 10+% compared to those small businesses reluctant to embrace new technology, the majority of which have seen their turnover decrease since the recession began.

Mick Hegarty, strategy director, BT Business said: “The small business community has fought bravely to survive the downturn. Our findings show that many small businesses believe we are now at a tipping point with a recovery almost upon us. We can also see that now more than ever technology has a critical role to play in the future success of these businesses, helping them to find new customers, market themselves more effectively and reduce costs. Investing in better technology is emerging as a measure of success in the future for many businesses.”

In terms of the technologies having the biggest impact, 61% said faster broadband speeds have had a positive impact on their business. Better web sites, better e-commerce and mobile devices were also particularly beneficial. More than 1 in 10 small businesses are looking for more advice and support on using technology to manage their business.

Smaller organisations are also increasingly turning to social media to improve the way they operate with one in five respondents turning to support forums, Twitter and blogs to market their business and attract and retain customers.

Lord Digby Jones, said, “The Business Pulse highlights that optimism is on the rise. Equipping firms with the right technology and support will help tip the economy from recession onto the road to recovery in 2010.”

Full findings of the Business Pulse will be revealed in Small Business Week 2009 and debated by a business leadership panel including business experts Peter Jones and Lord Digby Jones at the launch.

National SEO , Global SEO – Mirror, Mirror on the Web, Who’s the Fairest of Them All?

That’s what we say everyday, when peering into our looking glass of this information age: our computer monitors: “Who’s the fairest of them all?” In other words, whose website is #1, or at least on Page 1 of Google, the juggernaut of the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) world? One of the technologies used by one of the leaders in National SEOand Global SEO and in their own backyard, Denver SEO, USWebCentral has one of the highest technologies available these days: Video SpokesPerson on your website. Another aspect is how to obtain more “square footage” high on search engine results pages.

What is a Video SpokesPerson? It is a filmed person, walking and talking on your website, in a 30 second commercial/ introduction, superimposed right onto the homepage of a website, or on any webpage. The SpokesPerson discusses the most important aspects of a company’s mission, presenting it in a compelling manner that is hopefully interesting to potential clients. The desire is that the SpokesPerson’s presentation will create a Call To Action, resulting in the potential client phoning or e-mailing the owner of the website to do business.

Having a Video SpokesPerson is one of the coolest technologies you can have these days. “Seeing their Video SpokesModel on their Denver web design site, immediately convinced me we had the right website and SEO consultant,” said Rand Soellner AIA, of Rand Soellner Home Architect, a leading custom home architect that engaged USWebCentral’s services earlier this year, “Actually seeing something different and cutting edge that works, that actually sets your website on a higher level of professionalism, now that’s the sort of thing that helps your website elevate in people’s minds and creates more clicks and therefore a higher ranking on search engines.”

Also, as an architect, Rand Soellner Architect deals in square footage of buildings and used this to describe the recent success of his revamped website with USWebCentral’s help: “We have a series of press releases about various hot topics and speak to those issues in which we are recognized leaders of the industry, like Green Home Architects, for instance. I have noticed that when I type in certain search terms, that not only do 1, 2 or 3 of my press releases pop up on page 1 or page 2 of Yahoo or Google, so does my main website, quite often. In other words, I own from 20% to 30% square footage of the organically searched results on page 1 and /or page 2, which is huge in SEO circles, I am told.”

Scott Carvin of USWebCentral agrees, getting a kick out of the term “Page 1 square footage percentage ownership” to describe what he is doing for his clients. “I started this trend of the Video SpokesPerson to make a difference, and it’s working. We are leaders in this technology. We actually digitally film everything right here in our own high-tech studio, and we have about 50 professional actors and anchor people and models on call, all of whom present themselves and our clients well. We allow our clients to pick the talent they want, or they can personally be the star of their own show, right there on their own website.”

Creating as much square footage ownership of Page 1 is Carvin’s mission, which he talks about like an impassioned evangelist, “I want my clients to succeed. If they do, they keep paying me to help their websites rank high, and I get new clients who want that kind of success, so that’s a win-win for all of us. We also provide a multi-pronged press release service that allows us to launch multiple press releases for clients, which will help accomplish the obtaining of the additional square footage on page1 and page 2 search engine results. If possible, we want our client to own the entire first page of Google search results, meaning that our clients, in their industry, are most of what people see, when searching for what our clients do.”

Carvin knows that owning an entire page on search results is a Nirvana-like utopian result that is not likely, but he has seen something near this with some of his clients’ search results. He is a client advocate whose desire is to place them on a pedestal for the whole world to see. Check out the Denver search engine optimization company online!

Under the terms of the policy change, advertising networks that have traditionally focused activity on big brand sites will now have access to Google’s extensive network of blogs, forums and websites. Opening up a potential new revenue stream for thousands of site operators worldwide, the move underlines the search giant’s determination to extend its reach beyond text advertising and into the world of display.

“This is an event that should make all intelligent publishers and advertisers think hard about their activities. Google is clearly determined to make a serious impact upon the display sector and if this move works, their dominance over online advertising will be extended,” said Lyndsay Menzies, Chief Operations Officer at bigmouthmedia.

“Traditional ad buyers will face a new world if Google manage to make this work. They’ll be looking at an environment where site owners can block entire networks if they don’t perform or can block specific advertisers. Display will be less about big deals and negotiating with decision makers and will become much more like search marketing in terms of its scientific and performance led nature.”

Welcoming Google’s insistence that only networks that meet their privacy, speed and quality guidelines will be included in the expanded AdSense, bigmouthmedia believes that the move will require significant changes to the thought process behind a display campaign. Micro-management will become more important as individual publishers are given the opportunity to opt out of entire ad networks or ban ads from certain sites.

“This is a very interesting move which will work if the thousands of AdSense publishers out there support the move. If there’s enough demand from the AdSense publisher community then ad networks will certainly not want to pass on the opportunity,” said Andrew Girdwood, Bigmouthmedia’s Head of Search.

Bizwiki.com – Change The Way Local Search Works By Enabling Its Users To Build Up The Most Detailed And Up-To-Date Index Of Business In The United States

A new website called Bizwiki.com has launched across the USA today, promising to change the way local search works by enabling its users to build up the most detailed and up-to-date index of business in the United States.

Bizwiki.com

In a break with traditional Yellow Pages websites, Bizwiki invites business owners and representatives to get involved in adding and improving their records with everything from contact details to prices and opening hours, completely free of charge.

“We put up an early Alpha-version of Bizwiki.com to test it on the web in December 2008, and already traffic levels have grown to several hundred thousand users per month!,” said Bizwiki co-founder Matt Aird. “There is definitely a strong demand for the sort of information a Web 2.0 business site can deliver, and the increasing amount of users on the site provides a compelling motivation for businesses to get involved in adding and editing their listings.”

“Today’s launch is officially a fully-functional beta, but we already have several hundred thousand pages on the site, with more being added each day. We’ve tried to take ideas and concepts from some of the most successful user-created websites in the world, such as Wikipedia and the Open Directory Project, and improve them to where the ‘anyone can edit’ principles of a wiki can be used in a business-environment. The biggest single difference is probably that our site is built in a consistently structured format, allowing us to rapidly scale-up the amount of information and also give our users an easy way to search the site.”

The Bizwiki difference:

• It’s free – Unlike many established publishers that charge for inclusion, Bizwiki is free to search, free to edit and free for companies to list on.
• It’s editable – The ‘anyone-can-edit’ approach is a challenge to frequently the out of date records of conventional printed Business Directories.

To try the new Bizwiki site, or even add and edit a business record, visit http://www.bizwiki.com.

Bigmouthmedia Welcomes The New Search Partnership Between Yahoo And Microsoft’s Bing Search Engine, Stating That The New Arrangement Could Rejuvenate Competition In A Market Currently Dominated By Google

Although details of the deal are as yet unclear, reports from numerous credible news outlets worldwide suggest that after many months of negotiation, the global giants are set to unveil an agreement that will see Yahoo sell search ads under Microsoft’s nascent Bing brand. While estimates of the global market share the partnership will hold vary from 12% to 30%, Europe’s largest independent digital marketing agency believes that the news will have a positive impact upon the industry.

“It’s been 18 months since the rumour mill first started touting the possibility of a deal involving Yahoo and Microsoft, and the industry as a whole will be delighted to see what’s become the search business’ longest-running soap opera finally approaching a conclusion. The devil will be in the detail, but given the alarming dominance that Google has held over the market for so long, the prospect of a serious challenge to their position is good news for everyone,” said Lyndsay Menzies, Chief Operations Officer at bigmouthmedia.

“Although the impact in the UK will be minimal, with the combined entity still only accounting for a market share of around 5%, competition in any market is good for consumers. If the partnership succeeds in growing their market share still further, the renewed challenge could force Google to become more competitive.”

With the precise details of the agreement still a closely guarded secret, the news that Yahoo has finally succumbed to Microsoft’s advances has spawned widespread speculation over the deal’s possible ramifications. While the prospect of a serious competitor to Google’s Adwords system is being touted as a move that could help push PPC advertising prices downwards, other commentators have suggested that the deal could force the search giant to reconsider its policy against paying commission to partner agencies.

“There are still more questions than there are answers about this deal, but If Yahoo’s paid search ads are powered by Bing then we will have another credible search engine to consider for paid search budgets. That may result in some instability as bid management platforms adapt to cope with the new landscape, but it will help keep cost-per-click prices down,” said Andrew Girdwood, bigmouthmedia’s Head of Search.

“But if Bing is only going to supply Yahoo with organic results then it still means Yahoo is out of the search game. They’ll not be developing their search engine, are unlikely to return to it and will in essence become an ad management platform – the long term effects of which remain to be seen.”

With its high quality customer service and standards of performance, the company is dedicated to help protect businesses f r o m the “too good to be true” types of SEO offerings that will hurt a company’s standing in the search engine rankings rather than help them.

President and owner Greg Gaskill knows that businesses need to ramp up marketing efforts during slow times, and slow times are often when they can least afford it. He and his team have made it their business to help companies thrive in the current hostile economic environment. However, he also knows that there is no such thing as “instant SEO” or “automated secret weapons” of online marketing, therefore these Business Starter Packages incorporate the same proven principles used in larger projects, but on a smaller scale. Although smaller in scope, these targeted services produce significant results – results that create a solid foundation to continue to grow f r o m which can mean the difference between survival and failure in tough times.

These new packages offer businesses the same award-winning Mr-SEO quality including the company’s Social Media Marketing, Blogging with Ghostwriter, Pay Per Click Advertising, and Search Engine Optimization packages, designed to get businesses into the top search engine rankings ethically and for long term success with affordable SEO and online marketing strategies.
